Our Story
Since 1885, the Tatt's has been part of Winton’s story, serving cold beers, cracking feeds and country hospitality. First known as the Winton Hotel, we’ve had a few name changes, plenty of publicans and more than a few characters through the doors.
Our second storey even made the trip from the Charters Towers goldfields, arriving by 1914. These days, the yarns still flow around the horseshoe bar, while old photos and quirky relics give the walls stories of their own. Pull up a stool, meet the locals and settle into an outback pub with plenty of history and heart.
Friday nights at the Tatt's bring raffles, meat trays and a chance to give something back to the community. Each week, we raise money for different local groups supporting children around town.
These include the P&F groups at Winton State School and St Patrick’s Catholic School, Winton Kids Cattle Club, Diamantina Shotokan Karate, Winton Junior League and Winton Pony Club. We also support local kids selected for representative sports, helping them take their next big step.
Our first anniversary of leasing the pub called for something special, so we put on a musical bingo night. With plenty of laughs and a generous crowd, it raised more than $10,000, split between the Cattle Club and Pony Club.
There’s more fun on the way, including an upcoming 80s musical bingo fundraiser with the local firies in support of BUSHkids. Keep an eye on our What’s On page for details, round up your mates and get involved.
